Mother Teresa Exhibit Draws Hundreds

A panel exhibit from the Missionaries of Charity, Mother Teresa: Life, Spirituality and Message, drew hundreds to Sophia Academy on December 12, 2011. The exhibit depicted the life of Mother Teresa and included a relic of the first class.

The panel exhibit was a historical presentation, chronicling Mother Teresa’s life from childhood to beatification by the Catholic Church. The exhibit began with a biographical tour through Mother Teresa’s life and the history of the Missionaries of Charity (MC), the religious order she founded. It consisted of more than 70 panels, supported substantially by photos and copies of documents from the official Missionaries of Charity archives. At a time when meaning and achievement in life was too often defined by what one has, Mother Teresa of Calcutta rose to the heights of global recognition and respect by giving everything away.

“As soon as I walked into the Mother Teresa Exhibit, I was astonished!” remarked sixth grader, Patti McClelland. “As I was walking around the exhibit, I realized how important putting others before yourself is. I saw and read that Mother Teresa didn’t care if she would catch something or break something, all she cared about was helping others get better. Mother Teresa healed a lot of people with her hands, but yet she also healed a lot of people with the power of love, and Jesus Christ.”
