The Sophia Academy Summer Leadership Institute: June 11-15

Sophia Academy Leadership Institute seeks students who demonstrate leadership potential. This unique middle school program, open to fifth through eighth graders, will allow young men and women to gain valuable experience in leadership by participating in meaningful and correlated activities in a cooperative and positive environment.
Sophia Academy’s Leadership Institute is designed to inspire and motivate students and to encourage curiosity, creativity, and discovery.

Leadership InstituteThe area of study for Summer 2012 will be Education/Access and Limitations. Participants will visit a variety of academic/educational institutions and meet with representatives to understand the importance and value of education. Participants will also meet some of their congressional leaders. The curriculum offers a unique approach to leadership that makes the Sophia Academy Leadership Institute an unparalleled opportunity for these students to learn and apply new concepts in an intellectually stimulating environment. The director of the Leadership Institute is Mrs. Marie Corrigan, Founding Director and Principal. Students must register by April 1.

 

Academic Summer Camp "iAM": Week 1 June 4 - 8, Week 2 June 11 - 15

The learning and fun doesn’t have to end! The iAM Summer Camp guarantees and innovative, interactive, and excitingSummer Camp, Summer Enrichment and Summer Schoolsummer experience unlike any other program. Students in grades K-4 are eligible to participate. Research-proven strategies including the Orton Gillingham approach, coupled with multi-sensory and experiential instruction will increase the participants' knowledge, application and effectiveness of communication. iAM instructors are highly skilled and experienced teachers committed to the development of the learning process, engaging the learner and ensuring success. Your child will have a dynamic learning experience, sharpening all of his/her reading, writing, andmath skills that have been learned throughout the school year.

This summer, you can opt for enrolling your child in one or both sessions offered. Week 1 is June 4 – 8; Week 2 is June 11 – 15. Students must register by April 1. The director of the iAM summer camp is Mrs. Camelia Raţ, Director of Instructional Support.
